Al-Anon suggests to attend six meetings before you decide if Al-Anon is right for you. By trying a variety of meetings in your area, you can find one that suits you.
The only requirement for membership is that there be a problem of alcoholism in a relative or friend. Al-Anon Family Groups are an anonymous fellowship, so the speeches in a meeting are held in confidence and your anonymity well protected. Members usually use their first name only in meetings.
