covid-19

Covid-19 has changed everything.

Do you remember back in March 2020, when we thought the quarantine would be over in maximum a couple of months?

Well.  Turns out it might take actually a couple of years.

It is better to be aware of the real scenario, no matter how infuriating.

Otherwise, we risk to drown in a sea of booze and despair.  And you know we can´t afford that.

On the bright side, drinking alone has never been so “socially accepted”, ironically.

Exposing ourselves and our families to the virus by attending bars and restaurants would be quite irresponsible.

But drinking while we have conversations over the phone, or through an app, can be fun and is definitely safer.  Discussing the accuracy of Covid-19 news with a a few gin tonics is the new thing.

Of course, as long as we don´t finish the whole bottle.  Which is the real challenge when we are alcoholics.

For that reason, in addition to binge watching sitcoms or social media posts, let´s stick to our online AA meetings, or any other support groups.

If staying 100% sober is not possible, visualizing the end of Covid-19 by the beginning of 2022, might help us at least  to cope with the anxiety.
